3.
On our luch break, my friend and I go on trips together. Our ambitions are small: We can't get very far in an hour.
Today we got lunch at the food co-op and looked at used bikes at the bike shop near our office. They keep the used bikes outside. It rained, but not enough to bother us. We laughed at a goofy-looking bike with very thick tires, the kind you'd expect to find on a motorcycle.
Then we visited our favorite shop, a used bookstore that's been around since the 80's. While I rifled through postcards, my friend asked me whether, hypothetically, I'd like to go on a hot air balloon ride. I asked if I would be going alone, and she said no, the hot air balloon operator would be there too. I asked if the operator was a good conversationalist. She said he was probably okay. My friend is always bringing up stuff like this.
I left the bookstore with two beautiful postcards I'm going to hang in my bedroom. I'm thankful to my friend for lifting my spirits on this rainy day.
